Omah Dhuwur

Omah Duwur is one of the most famous restaurants in Yogyakarta. Being in the central area Kota Gede silver handicrafts make this restaurant a lot in the visit by the tourists who want to eat at the same time looking for a good silver. The restaurant is located right on the highway and not far from the bus stop TransJogja.

When you first enter the restaurant area you will find two buildings connected by a wooden bridge underneath which there is a pond with koi fish collections owned by the owner. You will feel calm and comfortable atmosphere was like being at home instantly. But I recommend you come during the afternoon or evening, the atmosphere is more romantic and dramatic. Restaurants are mixing the concept of open space with Javanese architecture. Building called Pendopo, located on the rear side of the main building and located in the lower mainland.

The menu offers a mix of western style and cuisine of Java. Food prices here are much more expensive than in other restaurants in Yogyakarta. But it is balanced with the food being served and service. I ordered chicken fried lemongrass and lemon tea. There are special here, you will get a sweet snack such as chips and soft drinks a mixture of ginger, lemon and lemongrass. I really like that opening drinks.

The wind blew in the afternoon breeze makes me want to sleep. Before long my food arrived. a piece of chicken accompanied by rice wrapped in banana leaves, pieces of fresh vegetables, and three sauce: tomato sauce, chili paste and green chili sauce. Amazing. Looks chicken breast fried golden yellow with a sign at a convenient time. There are a few fried lemongrass chicken stuck on.

After spending the food I ordered, I take a walk to see the situation surrounding the restaurant. Unfortunately, the more improvement there. So the atmosphere is not so good as ever on display on the TV. But enough to make you fall asleep with the afternoon breeze.
