Parangtritis

The reason why I finnaly came here is because I didn't know what to do on Yogyakarta in the morning. So, i take the risk go to the beach that was always hot at all day long. So I think the best way to enjoy this beach is in the morning. I asked to the front office of my hostel how get the beach. But i just got few information how to get there. So, with little of confusion, I went there.

I stand up along the Jalan Parang Tritis front of Prawirotaman Market. Some of bus was passed, but I don't know what bus that I must be chosen. Then I walked up to end of road and asked people about the bus. Thanks God, the bus came to me.

The sun rise in the morning breeze. I can see the rise field like a gold farm. I opened the bus window and i can feel fresh air come up to me and blow up my face. And the bus often stop when some of children stand up in the side of road. They want to went to school.

After 45 minutes beautiful journey with bus, finally i met the sea. so beautiful.

Jumping together with Maliq n D'essential

Yesterday I got a free ticket to watch Maliq'n Dessential. Really encouraging. A new radio station was launch in Palembang, it's Play FM. The Launcing event presents Maliq as the guest star. So long time I have not seen Maliq on live perfomance, so this is a delightful surprise.

We leave at 6:30 pm. Though written on ticket event starts at 5pm. But the strange thing is when we heard the promo on the radio show starts at 7pm. Maybe there's errors in the writing of tickets. Sure enough, we got there but the venue is still very quiet audience. Finally we decided to eat first at the stalls around the venue, because the cafe is usually open at the location, on that day it closed.

This event is quite unique. Taking place at the futsal field. With a fairly high stage of about two meters and wide more than 10 yards this stage looks quite spectacular for the event at the futsal field. The white screen behind the stage as wide as 10 meters with a height of about five yards for multimedia displays make it more looks amazing . But unfortunately, the stage and big screen is not supported by good lighting layout. Only few follow spot lights, that is not very maximum.

Before Maliq performed, event was opened by Twentyfirst Night. The band was awesome. With the number of viewers who only meet one third of field, the band was able to sedate them to sing together. Some old songs are sung bring the old memory came back. With a fresh musical arrangements, the band has made the atmosphere so cool.

Maliq brought about eight songs from the first album till from the latest album. Wearing all on white shirt, Maliq have good done performance last night. Though It's just that now looks little bit unusual with minus on saxophone player. With bit of jazz music but easy to listen and dance, Maliq has bring the atmosphere of the night was getting hotter. Almost all the songs performed had usual heard by the audience. Starting from the Kangen, Dia, The One, Coba Katakan, Pilihanku, and others song. Movements unexpected on the sidelines of a song that was sung make Maliq appearance deserves to be seen. Several times the vocalist to make the leap. And at the last song all jumped up and down by the rhythm, including me. It was an impressive night.

Beringharjo Market

Malioboro is the heart of Yogyakarta city. This road is never devoid of tourists, both local or overseas. Of culinary tourism, batik, handicraft and other forms of souvenirs here. During my four days in Jogja, more or less I can find unique things here. May be useful for you.

At the end of Jalan Malioboro, there is a famous batik market that called Bringharjo Market. Beringharjo has been functioning as a trading place since 1758. You'll find a huge collection of bantik here in a very low price. Depending on your expertise in bargaining the price. If you just want to buy it for souvenirs, I recommend this place for you, because the price is relatively cheap. You can get a batik shirt, ranging from 35 thousand to 80 thousand. Depending on the material, and stitching. Don't miss to find the ancient batik here. Maybe its little more on shabby shape, but the material used is very nice and cool when we wear it. I got buy a unique batik shirts color of blue with fish motifs.

Along the front of the market, you can enjoy a variety of typical foods of Jogja. Pecel, buntil, mangut lele, tempe bacem or tahu gembus bacem need you to try. Don't forget for special beverages such as Dawet is best choice when the air is getting hot and sweaty. Don't be afraid the price is very friendly. But maybe you'll be little interfere with the street busker. So be prepare with the coins.

Omah Dhuwur

Omah Duwur is one of the most famous restaurants in Yogyakarta. Being in the central area Kota Gede silver handicrafts make this restaurant a lot in the visit by the tourists who want to eat at the same time looking for a good silver. The restaurant is located right on the highway and not far from the bus stop TransJogja.

When you first enter the restaurant area you will find two buildings connected by a wooden bridge underneath which there is a pond with koi fish collections owned by the owner. You will feel calm and comfortable atmosphere was like being at home instantly. But I recommend you come during the afternoon or evening, the atmosphere is more romantic and dramatic. Restaurants are mixing the concept of open space with Javanese architecture. Building called Pendopo, located on the rear side of the main building and located in the lower mainland.

The menu offers a mix of western style and cuisine of Java. Food prices here are much more expensive than in other restaurants in Yogyakarta. But it is balanced with the food being served and service. I ordered chicken fried lemongrass and lemon tea. There are special here, you will get a sweet snack such as chips and soft drinks a mixture of ginger, lemon and lemongrass. I really like that opening drinks.

The wind blew in the afternoon breeze makes me want to sleep. Before long my food arrived. a piece of chicken accompanied by rice wrapped in banana leaves, pieces of fresh vegetables, and three sauce: tomato sauce, chili paste and green chili sauce. Amazing. Looks chicken breast fried golden yellow with a sign at a convenient time. There are a few fried lemongrass chicken stuck on.

After spending the food I ordered, I take a walk to see the situation surrounding the restaurant. Unfortunately, the more improvement there. So the atmosphere is not so good as ever on display on the TV. But enough to make you fall asleep with the afternoon breeze.

Delta Homestay

First time to find a place Delta Homestay, we took a wrong road. Delta Homestay was located at Jalan Prawirotaman 2. When you met with this house, it does look very small. Apparently, the rooms are located in the rear. You will through a small hallway and several rooms until you find a small pool like the photos shown on the internet.

The room is small huts shaped mutually coincide with each other. Nuances woven bamboo hut make comfortable atmosphere such village. Rooms are not huge, with two single beds and a small table in the middle. The bathroom was too narrow. There is a small sink with mirror, toilet and shower are not gushing profusely with hot water facilities that do not operate 24 hours, and the lights dim in the bathroom.

If you stay here, do not forget to enjoy the afternoon in front of the room. You will get a glass of hot tea and a piece of cake. You can get through the afternoon with a swim or read a book on the side of the pool. Breakfast was also pretty good for a cheap inn. You can choose fried rice or bread with a choice of poached egg or fried egg. Do not forget there are papaya or pineapple fruit which can be selected with a cup of warm sweet tea. Price per room is Rp165 thousand if you both, and single on Rp155 thousand. Facilities air conditioner and the fan in the room quite reasonable at that price.

So if you want to experience being a backpacker, this inn may be the right option.

Book Lover's Bag

Meet with old friend and chat are fun things that should not be missed. I met Suluh Pratita - Author of challenging journey books, I usually call him, Bude Tita. This woman is also a reliable souvenir entrepreneur. The clientele are very much in Jakarta and Surabaya.

Our the first time meeting is when she became a writer and producer for my company's corporate magazine. Until finally I had to move parts and our relationship continues only to the extent of chat in the social media: facebook, YM or blog.

We talk about the past, her travels across Europe - a promotion travel of Indonesian culture, and her writing work being pursued by date line. Very interesting and inspiring. Recently she was invited as a speaker for his book which has not been published, but has been waiting for many people.

Before we continue with lunch, she was gave me souvenir of their products: a t-shirt with cute design, a t-shirt and a notebook of "Laskar Pelangi", and a cute bag "Book Lover". The last one is my favorite. I wear those bag anywhere when I was in Jogja until crumpled shape. The bag is not very big but fit for my things.

Thanks Bude.

Via-Via Traveler Cafe & Restaurant

One activity that should not be missed when you stopped at a town is enjoying dinner with a different feel, so was mine. Living in a hostel in the area Prawirotaman, Jogja - known as tourist village, attracted me to taste the menu at the famous cafe in this area.

On the recommendation of my friend, I tried the Via-Via Traveler Cafe & Restaurant, located in the middle of the aisle Prawirotaman I. Night and day this place is always full. So you have to be prepared if you do not get a seat. That means you have to wait or sit in bar chair adjacent to the kitchen or choose another place.

This place is not so large, even relatively small. Consisting of ground floor and a smaller upstairs. The interior was unique and there is an open kitchen, so we can see the cooking process. Small benches and minimalist tables make this room can filled by many people. So do not ever expect to get here loveseat or sofas. Inside the left side and upper floor looks more artistic. There are two small benches outside the restaurant with tiny table, and there I was. Because there is no more seat for me.

Via-Via offers diverse menu, Western-style and Javanese also available. For Javanese menu, each day there will be a different special menu. Very interesting. Finally I chose the main dish: rice eggplant balado seasoning, and mango pineapple mix juice .

After waiting in a decent time, finally came the juice that was ordered. Fresh juices served without additional water, liquid sugar was separated. It's excellent, I've never enjoyed like this. I do not add sugar because it tastes just right. While working on something in the notebook in the dimly lit small candles in front of me, do not feel my juice run out. But my food had not arrived. I began to get anxious. My stomach started to scream. I several times give a signal to the waiter and asked about my order. They just said still cooked for many other orders, because so many orders are waiting to be cooked. Finally my patience exhausted. I decided to cancel my order and only pay for juice.

My dream about rice eggplant balado has been deleted. I am very disappointed, why they take so long to cook, but they continued to receive visitors. Well maybe next time I will come but not in a state of hunger. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

When you look to the internet then you will find the Via-Via lot in a few locations that are owned by the Belgians.

Flight Magazine

Did you know that one of the media campaign for the good flight is a magazine on the flight itself. I was one in-flight magazine lovers. Garuda Indonesi and Air Asia are a few examples of airlines that are seriously working on their magazine.

Why flight magazine?

Because before feeling sleepy come, the passengers will spend time for reading and seeing pictures in magazines that are available in front of them. Passengers also need information that is not just a mere campaign. The magazine must provide better value in terms of style, content, information and the seriousness of the present beautiful pictures. So that passengers willing to travel back with the flight. Nothing wrong if the passengers given more service by providing quality readings in the flight.Don't You ?
